BACKGROUND

Reigart were asked to demolish the Bishoploch area of Easterhouse a part of the Glasgow Housing Association Term contract. - Where only remaining block within section.

CHALLENGES

Works began within this area in 2006, when No. 1-7 Baldraggon Road were demolished.

During August 2008 Full height scaffolding was erected between No. 2 & 4 Baldraggon Road, this was then utilized to manually create a separation between No. 2 & 4 Baldraggon Road, which consisted of the separation of precast concrete balcony complete with cantilever floor detailing, which consisted of a precast byson flooring running parallel to the front elevation interlocked into both properties between the gable and to the underside of the floorings.

Upon successful separation of the two blocks the remainder of No.4 & 6 Baldraggon Road was machine demolished utilizing demolition excavator complete with various demolition attachments to ground level, removing foundations except where they provided a retaining function to the remaining block.

 Throughout January to June 2009 the remaining blocks within the estate were demolished with the entire area being top-soiled and seeded with the exclusion on 1No, property which was still occupied,

1. Heras fencing erected to secure site upon property becoming vacated.

2. Machine demolition (including removal of foundations)

3. Groundworks (inclduing topsoil and seeding)
