Recycling: A core part of our service

The progressive increases in Landfill Tax since it's introduction in 1996 has focused the attention of all producers of waste to the increasing importance of the requirement for recycling.

Reigart Contracts has been at the forefront of recycling in the demolition industry and has invested heavily in both plant and infrastructure to maximise their recycling capability.

Reigart owns and operates two fully licensed recycling facilities at Hornock Road, Coatbridge and at Drumcavel Quarry, Gartcosh. In addition we utilise mobile crushing plants to enable us to recycle materials on our demolition sites.

In 2004 we entered into a 5 year action programme with the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) with the aim of increasing the production of recycled and secondary aggregates from demolition waste. As part of the programme pre-determined production targets were set.

Over the last five years Reigart has produced in excess of 1,250,000 tonnes of aggregates.

Our commitment to recycling is demonstrated in a recent case study undertaken by Glasgow Housing Association of a major demolition contract  by Reigart. The study concluded that a recycling rate of almost 80% of all wastes derived from the project had been recycled.

Reigart Contracts Ltd is centrally located in Coatbridge in Lanarkshire and is regularly undertakes large complex projects at sites across Scotland. To find out more about our recycling activities or to purchase engineering grade recycled aggregates contact our Recycling Manager on 01236 431290
